Building a DIY opensource e-reader Pt.1

I took a short break from working on Spare Parts to start on a new project; The Open Book.
This neat opensource project, designed by Joey Castillo (https://github.com/joeycastillo/The-Open-Book), is a feather compatible open-hardware e-book reader that aims to be a simple device that anyone with a soldering iron can build for themselves.
In this first part of four, I showed off the gorgeous PCB design, the e-ink display and soldered resistors and capacitors to the board.

This was streamed on Twitch on Jan 15, 2021

You can buy a PCB for this project on Joey’s Tindie page here: https://www.tindie.com/products/joeycastillo/the-open-book-pcb-bare-pcb/
